Chocolate & Date Protein Balls- The Recipe
BKRY besties, if you're still stuffing & freezing your dates your doing it wrong! These chocolate and date protein balls are a level up on the date snacks- easy to make, last ages in the fridge & taste ridiculously good. My kids love them, we call them Brownie Balls at home. I know the internet can have a bit of an obsession with making things in to balls, but these really are so tasty! They're a real hot with you all on our counter and now you can make them at home too.
You'll need-
1 ½ cups dates 3 tbsp oats
2 tbsp protein powder
3 tbsp cacao powder 3 tbsp maple syrup 2 tbsp almond butter A generous pinch of fancy salt (I'm a Maldon girlie) 100g of dark chocolate Sprinkle of desiccated coconut
Blitz everything (except the dark choc & coconut) in a food processor until smooth
Roll into bite sized balls & put on a baking paper lined tray. Wet your hands to stop it sticking! Pop in the fridge to set.
Melt your dark choc in a bowl over a pan of hot water, or in the microwave. Coat your balls in the chocolate, scoop out with a fork & then back on to your lined tray. Sprinkle with a little coconut while still wet.
Stick them back in the fridge until set then you can store them in a tupperware in the fridge.
